So it was briefly mentioned last week, but for those of you who don't know, we pass out a newsletter during the week of Shakespeare Camp. It's only a double sided page, but it includes segments and columns ranging from articles to interviews and from sports to puzzles. It's become more and more difficult to manage the newsletter, but we're hoping to have a daily publication this year for both performances. It's the Globe Newsletter, named after William Shakespeare's own theatre.
But for this to work, we'll really need your contributions!! We'll try to keep you all updated through the blog on how you can contribute. Stay subscribed to our blog to listen in for possibilities and opportunities to help!!
...One way you contribute would be by asking questions to our dear Titania. As the noble and wise fairy queen, she can help you with all your problems, be it in the pursuit of romance or the putting on of a play. Ask your question from your character's point of view. Don't want to dress up as a girl? Guy of your dreams doesn't even acknowledge you? Just feel like an ass today? Ask Titania!! Anything goes!! Please leave a comment with your question, and we'll make sure the fairy queen will answer them for you in our newsletter. Thanks!!
Dear Titania,
ReplyDeleteI wrote a great tragical work, but my actors keep bungling up the lines! How should I tell them that they're doing it wrong?
Sincerely,
Distressed
Dear Titania,
ReplyDeleteMy father won't let me marry the man I love. Instead, he's going to force me to marry a man I can't stand! Should I submit to my father's will? Or should I follow my heart and go with my love?
Sincerely,
Confused
Dear Titania,
ReplyDeleteI am deeply torn. A dear and old friend of mine has asked for ME to either condemn his daughter to death for an act of disobedience, or else force her into a marriage against her will. Both are in accordance with the Law, yet neither falls to my liking. What on earth should I do?
Sincerely,
Trapped
Dear Titania:
ReplyDeleteI have a… friend... who may or may not be putting on a play for the Duke’s wedding. The problem is, the friend’s lead actor has disappeared, and the last time he was seen, he had a donkey’s head. The lead actor is the heart of the performance, and would be horribly offended if he was substituted. My friend wants to know if it would be better to put in his understudy, or, if they can locate the lead actor in time, let him play the part with the head of a donkey.
Frantically,
Panicked Director—I mean “Friend of Director”—in Athens
Dear Titania,
ReplyDeleteOkay so like there's this guy, and I really really really like him. All right I basically love him. But I mean he doesn't love me back....like what do I do? I mean, every time I stalk... uhh walk with him, I tell him I love him and I'll do whatever he wants, but he... he HE JUST TELLS ME TO GO AWAY! This really hurts my feelings. Like am I not pretty enough for him? The worst part is that he used to love me, but then this other chick came along and stole my man! What does she have that I don't? Well anyways please tell me what to do to get him back? It's not like I'm desperate or anything...I just really love him and want what's best for him..and like duh anyone can see that's me.
Sincerely,
Lovelost
